Festival Walk Free Concert Series

As a part of our mission to make music accessible and a part of our community fabric, these concerts were presented on The Festival Walk and its free outdoor stages. Strategically placed around the district, public performance spaces were designed in the east Ocean Center Plaza and at the Historic Daytona Beach Bandshell. These stages featured some of the brightest emergining artists in every genre of American music.

THE BEAUVILLES: Alternative Rock • 5pm
They have traveled the 48 states and have played hundreds of shows and dozens of festivals and make their way to the American Music Festival stage. The band currently opens for some of the most critically acclaimed independent bands in the United States. The Beauvilles’ music video for the song, “Snow,” went on to win Best Music Video 2009 in the Sunscreen Film Festival. The video has over tens of thousands of views and went on to appear on FUSE tv, MtvU, Brighthouse Networks, and several dozen Californian television networks. The Beauvilles are in the Rock/Americana format, and in 2010 they plan to release two albums.

NICK DRIVER: Acoustic Pop • 4pm
Releasing his solo debut album, Warm Is Your Color this fall, The American Music Festival is his first appearance as an acoustic-pop/folk rock artist. This is a step out of the punk rock music scene to go in a softer solo direction. The North Carolina State University graduate signed recently with the Central Florida record label Caravan Media. Previously, Nick was a punk rocker with the band Skywire. During his days with Skywire, Nick was on the Van's Warped Tour where he shared the stage with Paramore. This fall, Nick will be opening for the band Sugarland in Raleigh, NC, at the Time Warner Amphitheater. While his music is fantastic, it’s the vocals of Nick Driver though that are without a doubt the real star of the show. They draw you in and keep your attention with their friendly quality

HEATHER LYNN: Acoustic Pop • 3pm
Heather Lynn is an inspiring, independent, acoustic pop singer/songwriter. Her soulful, honest and hopeful voice resonates with people from many various walks of life. In concert, Heather brings her unique sound combined with contagious pop melodies and creative lyrics. A refreshing act, she is preparing to launch her first album this fall.

BRINSON SWANN: Acoustic Pop • 2pm
Brinson is an acoustic pop singer-songwriter from DeLand, Florida who released his first album in 2010. He brings his own brand of pop to this performance on the Ocean Center Plaza as a part of the Festival Walk Showcase at the American Music Festival.

- COLOURSLIDE: Alternative Rock • 5pm
With their eponymous self-titled debut, which quickly went to number one at Awarestore.com, they have received extensive radio airplay throughout the south and was subsequently licensed to ESPN, MTV, Oxygen and E!. To date, the record has received over thirty television spots with many millions of viewers. Colourslide received the "Maxell Song of the Year" award in the John Lennon Songwriting contest for the Alex Lawhon and Dean Newman penned, "Wake Up Call". Billboard magazine also featured the band on the back cover of its August 2nd issue for the win. Colourslide was then named the premium unsigned band in the world by Gretsch Guitars as part of their 125th Anniversary celebration. The band released their sophomore album, Everybody’s Right About Everybody, earlier this year to rave reviews.
- RUDY CURRENCE: R&B • 4pm
With his extensive classical and jazz piano training as well as experience singing Classical, R&B, Gospel, Hip Hop, Soul, and Pop music, Currence is one of the brightest stars on the scene. All of these styles mixed with his own creative expression make his live performance a rare jewel that you don't want to miss! Rudy was honored as one of the recipients of the ASCAP his music has been featured in the blockbuster hit movie The Bourne Identity starring Matt Damon. His debut CD titled More Than You’ll Ever Know was followed by the release of his sophomore effort, Here With You. Both projects have received critical acclaim and an overwhelming response publicly. Songs from Rudy’s first CD have played in Old Navy and other major retailers nationwide.

CITY OF GOD: Pop Funk • 3pm
After signing with Bieler Bros Records, a label partnered with Warner Music Group, City of God has been putting the finishing touches on their debut album. City of God has been seen performing internationally, blazing the stage with their electrifying performance along the way including a performance at the American Music Festival Kick-Off on June 26th. Their intense live show quickly caught the eye of others, leading to sharing the stage with such artists as Shaggy, Lifehouse, Ne-Yo, Sean Paul, Ryan Leslie, Flo Rida, and many more. City of God has received numerous awards for their performance and humility, including a proclamation naming their own “day” in the City of North Miami Beach, Florida. “Make It Hot,” the debut single off their self-titled album hit national radio this summer.
- LIVE HART: R&B • 2pm
This aspiring singer/songwriter knew at a very early age that the creative urges inside her had to emerge and be heard. Live writes from personal experiences that are common and complex, free flowing and thought-provoking. She has always enjoyed sharing her deeply inspired thoughts with the world. During the earlier stages of her career, Live was a part of the Pop/ R&B girl group called Urbanesque and spent several years working under the direction of multi-platinum producer Veit Renn. Since then, Live has opened for R&B superstar Monica, Legendary smooth Jazz / R&B songstress Miki Howard & Jazz saxophonist Erly Thornton. She has also showcased at this year’s Florida Music Festival (FMF) and makes her American Music Festival debut.

Historic Bandshell
- STOCKHOLM: Alternative Rock • 5pm
A fresh new emergining band to the indie music arena, the band is composed by friends who share a love and passion for music. Stockholm continues to build upon the goal of creating music they entirley love, creating sinfully catchy songs. This altnernative rock group of five has quickly evolved into a complex range of tones and melodies from a wide field of influences. Stockholm formed in the late summer of 2009 and has quickly assembled a debut EP, and began playing many shows to constantly growing fan base. One of the hottest independant bands from Orlando, this is a concert that is not to be missed.
- AMSDEN: Acoustic Folk Pop • 4pm
In such a short time so much has happen for beach rockers Amsden. They have opened for The SuperVillains and lead singer, Tad Jennings, also made it past the first round of American Idol auditions in Jacksonville, Florida. The band also recently won Orlando’s Got Talent, presented by XL 106.7 KISS FM this past summer. Amsden is currently in the studio working on their first CD at Record Tower Sound and will make their American Music Festival debut at the Historic Bandshell stage.
- SUITE CAROLINE: Acoustic Folk Pop • 3pm
A star performer of the American Music Festival Kick-Off event on June 26th, she returns with her entire band to the festival stage. Having already released two CD's of all original music, performed on stage with Pat Benatar and the GoGo's and sung live with Sheryl Crow she is an incredible performer. She's opened concerts across the nation for many popular artists, including Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson, Lifehouse and Charlie Daniels. She has played shows at the Hard Rock and by invitation in Los Angeles as part of her endorsement relationship with Martin Guitars. With her refrshing brand of acoustic pop, this singer-songwriter comands the stage like few performers can.
